Dave Grohl Nandi Bushell Rock Off Challenge.

The Dave Grohl Nandi Bushell Rock Off Challenge started a month ago. If you have not heard of Nandi Bushell where have you been, this child star is one of the best drummers ever and she is only 9 years old. You may have seen her in the UK in the Argo commercials over Christmas.

She was given her first toy drum kit at the age of 5. Her farther John said “When we brought the toy drum kit home when Nandi was five, she instantly kept a beat going with perfect timing. I could not believe what I was hearing. It was beat-perfect and instinctive,” he explained.

She has had a lot of interest from celebrities over the years but this time she challenged Dave Grohl (The signer from the Foo Fighters but more importantly the drummer from Nirvana) to a drum off.

Round one the challenge.
In the first challenge Nandi absolutely nails Everlong by the Foo Fighters.

Round Two the reply from Dave Grohl.
Dave accepts Nandi’s challenge and give’s her the challenge of playing a song from one of his side project Them Crooked Vultures and the song Dead End Friends.

Round three Nandi V Dave
Nandi takes on Dave to give a perfect cover of Dead End Friends from Them Crooked Vultures.

Round Four the song.
The Dave Grohl Nandi Bushell Rock Off Challenge goes to the next level, Dave Grohl replies to Nandi and writes a song for her playing all instruments himself.

Dave Grohl once again cement’s his role as the most generous guy in music,
were not talking about money we are talking about taking the time to interact and help fans like Nandi.

Whilst we do have Foo Fighters and Nirvana T-shirts here at Rock Band T-Shirts, we don’t have any Nandi Bushell but I’m sure that will change as she is going to be a star.

kelsy karter Rock News

kelsy karter debut album coming soon and new single out now.

The kelsy karter debut album coming soon.

kelsy karter first came on the scene early 2019 when over night everyone knew who she was, she was the girl with the Harry Styles face tattoo.

A genius move that gained her worldwide publicity. The second news story reveled it was a fake, but the job was done, Kelsey had arrived.

In the same year she supported The Struts on the Young and Dangerous tour. I had the pleasure of seeing her live at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire London. Kelsy and her band (including ex Struts bass player Tommy Gent) got the crowed warmed up with an amazing set.

Since then she has been touring with boyfriend Adam Slack, the guitarist from The Struts. This and the lock down have given her the perfect opportunity to write the new album with a little help from Adam.

Fast forward to now and she’s back with a great new single “Love Me Or Hate Me”and her debut album is just around the corner. She seems to have really found her own style on the new songs, which could be described as a post punk with a take no shit kind of attitude, and it works.

The new songs jump out at you and won’t let go, with catchy riffs that will have them stuck in your head for days. Watch this space Kelsy Karter is coming to take over the world.

Take a look at the new video “Love Me Or Hate Me” here.

Rock News The Struts

The Struts on Steve Wright. The greatest band you never heard of.

The Struts are one of the greatest band to come out of the UK for years but most people have never heard of them, until today. They have been solidly touring America for years now, building a large fan base.

They have played live on the New Year’s eve TV celebration all across America. They have played Live on Good morning America from New York’s Central Park.

They supported The Rolling Stones before they even had a contract. They have since gone on to support the likes of Motley Crew and The Foo Fighters.

Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl said they were the best band to ever open for Foo Fighters.

He presented Struts guitarist Adam Slack with the first ever Gibson Dave Grohl Signature DG-335 2014 Pelham Blue guitar.

They have just returned to the UK after spending the year living in LA and recently playing a series of Live-In Drive In Shows in Philadelphia.

Why they have had radio play in the US this is the first time they have had national radio play on this scale. The Steve Wright in the afternoon show on BBC Radio 2 attracts 8.1 Million listeners and is one of the biggest in the UK.

On the show they announced their new Single “Strange Days” a collaboration with Robbie Williams.

Luke said “The song itself was pretty much a year in the making. We went into lock down as a band on the 24th of April in a residential studio, and started to work on what we thought was going to be two or three songs, and then it ended up being an entire album, so that was absolutely crazy but the lyric came it to me from talking just to people.

The word strange days and science fiction becoming reality was like this mantra that I just kept hearing. One thing I wanted to do was just capture this moment in time”.

Luke went on to thank Robbie and Radio 2 for playing the song.

The Struts and Robbie will perform the new track live at Soccer aid Sunday the 6th. You can watch it live on ITV in the UK.

You can hear the track here.
