The Struts are back

After what seems like forever for all of us this year The Stuts are back with a new single “Another Hit Of Showmanship”, the song features Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes on guitar.

Vocalist Luke Spiller had this to say “Another Hit Of Showmanship reminds me of being at a club night called Ramshackle years ago at the O2 Academy in Bristol, where they’d play bands like The Libertines and Razorlight and Scissor Sisters, and of course The Strokes.

“I hit up Albert out of the blue and told him, ‘We’ve got this song, and I’m so excited to see what you would do with it.’ As soon as he got his hands on it, he took it to a whole different level — it really just shows why he’s so brilliant at what he does.”

The band have just finished a bunch of Live in Drive in shows in the US. After spending most of the year living in LA, they are now back home in the UK and looking forward to coming out of quarantine.

Angus young still gets Stage fright.

It’s hard to believe but after 46 years on the road the legend that is Angus young still suffers from stage fright. When he donned the now classic uniform all those years ago he said “That was the most frightened I’ve ever been onstage” But thank God, I had no time to think. I just went straight out there. The crowd’s first reaction to the shorts and stuff was like a bunch of fish at feeding time – all mouths open. I had just one thing on my mind: I didn’t want to be a target for blokes throwing bottles. I thought if I stand still, I’m a target. So I never stopped moving. I reckoned if I stood still, I’d be dead.”

Lets hope that one day he put the uniform back on and bring back the AC/DC live experience.
